A balanced progressive Physical Education (PE) programme of work should provide all children with experiences which will encourage a life long interest in sport and physical recreation. PE contributes to the overall education of children by helping them to lead full and valuable lives through engaging in purposeful physical activity.
PE and school sport can contribute to the physical, academic, social, cultural, emotional, moral and spiritual development of the child. Physical Education is the only subject that contributes to education of the whole child. As a school we will be committed to delivering high quality PE and school sport so that we meet the needs of the whole child.
What we have achieved
All children receive a least two hours of physical education each week, with the extension of playground games and cyber coaching. Children take part in intra-school competitive activities each year and a traditional sports day. We enter a variety of inter-school competitions.
We have recently been the Erewash champions for Futsal, Quad kids and cricket. We have been to county finals on several occasions for athletics, football, cricket and tag rugby.
