What a busy few weeks we have had on the run up to our 'Christmas with the Aliens' performances! The children loved performing to our audiences- and would like to say a big 'THANK YOU' to all those who came to watch. We will add the donations raised to those raised by EYFS this week. Once this has been done we will let you know how much we have collected for Rainbows Children's Hospice.

This week we are looking forward to our visit to church (Tuesday 13th December) where we will be thinking about the Christmas story.

One Wednesday we will have our Christmas party, where the children will be coming to school dressed in their Christmas party clothes. We have lots of games lined up for the children to enjoy. We will try to tweet winners, so keep an eye on twitter! The food information has been sent out- please remember no nut/peanuts as we do have a child with a nut allergy.

Whilst all this is happening the teachers are also busy planning challenging, exciting and engaging lessons for next term- our next topic is 'Toys'. Lots of photos of all those lovely presents Santa brings may come in very handy in January...

During the second week back we will also carry out the first of the phonics checks for Year 1 children, along with any Year 2 children who didn't pass last year. Please continue to practise those buried treasure words as often as possible as these will really help. We may also send some other bits and pieces to help the children to consolidate their sound knowledge. We really do appreciate your support with this.

One final message for our last KS1 blog of 2016- HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
