Governing Body
Linda Webster

Chair & Scargill Trustee Foundation Governor

I came to live in West Hallam and joined Scargill at the beginning of my teaching career and never moved anywhere else! I've had the pleasure and privilege of watching the children I taught grow up and, with a satisfying sense of continuity, bring their own children to Scargill - this includes teaching now fellow governor Kay! I represented the teaching staff on the governing body for many years and I'm the governors' representative on the Powtrell Trust. I'm also a Trustee for the West Hallam United Charities. Since I stopped working as a class teacher I have time to do some voluntary work as well as school visits. I enjoy volunteering at our award winning Erewash Museum. I am a local Parish Councillor and serve as a Parish Council Representative on the Standards Committee of Erewash Borough Council.

Malcolm Hetherington

Executive Head

I am proud to be the Executive Headteacher of Scargill Primary School and serve as a governor by virtue of this role. I am currently also a governor at 3 other trust schools and am passionate about governance, especially in church schools. It is an honour to see the hard work and commitment from all staff and governors in their efforts to make Scargill as good as it can be.
Away from school I am married with 3 children to fill my spare time and enjoy watching and playing football, with Newcastle United being my team. My primary passion is music and it is my life’s work to own as many records and CDs as it is possible to fit in my spare room.

Kay Chisholm

Staff Governor

I am a staff Governor and have worked at Scargill school as an Early Years Teacher since 2005. I attended Scargill School as a child and I am now seeing many of my peers off spring coming into school. I am passionate about all children receiving the best start in their schooling journey and providing positive experiences for them to build on so that they can experience lifelong learning.

Sarah Hanson

Trust PCC Governor

"I have been an active member of the West Hallam community since 2009 when I moved to the village and my own children started at Scargill School and I am proud to represent the school as a Church Foundation Governor and a member of staff. I am passionate about education and believe in giving every child the opportunity to achieve their very best. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, walking and spending time with my family and friends."
