St Wilfrid's Church

St Wilfrid's Church

Our Link to St Wilfrid’s our local parish Church remains very special to us all at Scargill School.

Whilst Collective Worship is mainly held in school, groups of children from the school regularly visit St. Wilfrid’s church, for reflective learning, Easter and Christmas workshops and to celebrate the major festivals of the church year such as Harvest, Easter, and Christmas.

There is a special service in the autumn term when Year 3 pupils are presented with their own bible, and an annual school leavers’ service is held on the last day of the summer term in church.

We have a Collective Worship committee who are involved in planning and delivering Collective Worship to the rest of the school and they also play an integral part in worship when we visit church.

Members of the church community are welcome and regular visitors to school.
